The opera Flight by Jonathan Dove was written in 1998 and has already been performed all around the world. The 18 minute orchestral suite is a great opportunity to hear why. Robert Markham, who was brought up in Hull, returns as soloist in the evergreen Third Piano Concerto by Beethoven. The enormous forces of Rachmaninov’s final work end the programme directed by our guest conductor Timothy Redmond, also making a return visit.
