The Hull Philharmonic will be featured on both Radio 3 (Breakfast with Petroc Trelawny, 06.30 - 09.00) and Classic FM 20.00 - 22.00 on Friday 7th April.

From seven in the morning, musical director, Andrew Penny MBE will be talking with Petroc Trelawny about the orchestra’s contribution to Hull 2017 UK City of Culture, live from Hull’s Marina.

In the evening the orchestra’s World Premiere performance of 6000 Pipes! for Organ and Orchestra by Karl Jenkins, commissioned especially for 2017, will be broadcast on Classic FM’s Full Works Concert.

The concert was recorded on February 25th at Hull City Hall in front of a capacity audience and features Joanathan Scott in Sir Karl Jenkins richly evocative work featuring Hull, its people and its history. The broadcast will include another item from the concert, Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G with Martin Roscoe.
